Week of December 1-5

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend with Family and Friends!  Couldn't have asked for better weather!

Now on to the next big thing- CHRISTMAS!!!!  The kids are all really excited already!  I hope to get our daycare Christmas tree up this week and have the kids help me decorate it!  We will be making a lot of fun Christmas themed crafts this month and being very festive!

In the past, I have always done a Christmas program with the kids for the parents!  I am going to do one this year as well, but it will be shorter than most years since I have a younger crowd...we'll see how they do! The Show will be on Dec. 23rd at 4:30 pm.  Please plan on being here by then, with cameras fully charged for some great songs sung by our children!  Hopefully Santa will make a stop here again this year!  There will be a few treats for everyone after the show before heading out for Christmas Break!

A picture from last year's show!

Thanksgiving Week!

GOBBLE GOBBLE!  Thanksgiving just may be my favorite Holiday!  I love cooking and baking all the delicious food and the time with family and friends!  This year I am hosting my family here on Thursday and then heading up to our cabin Friday morning with some friends and their kids for a FRIENDSGIVING weekend of fun in the snow!  Looking forward to escaping the hustle and bustle of Black Friday!

We have a short week this week, but will end it with a Thanksgiving feast on Wednesday.  We will be having some "untraditional" versions of a few Thanksgiving staples!  And the kids will help me prepare them as well as make some fun Thanksgiving crafts throughout the week.

I know some of you have mentioned that you will be gone on Wednesday, if there is anyone else heading out of town early, please let me know so I can plan accordingly!

Just a reminder I am closed on Friday, Nov. 28 (and Obviously Thursday as well!!!)

MENU:
Monday- Fish Sticks, tator tots, raspberries, and milk
Tuesday- Ravioli, garlic bread, fruit cocktail and milk
Wednesday- Turkey sandwiches, sweet potato fries, carrots, pumpkin pie cookies and milk

Have a Wonderful Long weekend with your families and I will see you on Monday!

Week of November 17-21

The kids are having a lot of fun with our Thanksgiving crafts!  They have made owls, turkeys, corn, scarecrows just to name a few!  They have been telling me a lot about Thanksgiving around their houses...their favorite food at the feast, why we celebrate, etc.  It is really quite interesting to get a child's point of view!

Last week we had fun reading all of our friend's favorite books!  Thanks for bringing your books to share with the class!

Tasha came for Music Class on Friday and we sang all about Vegetables!  We made quite the vegetable soup with our Squash, tomato, pepper and pumpkin shaped maracas!

This week we have Travel Tots on Tuesday (9:00am) with Ms. Beth.

Friday is Brown Day.  I know we also did this before I switched curriculum, so this time around instead of wearing Brown Clothes, please take your child on a Brown hunt at home and bring something brown to show us!  Same as show and tell- I ask that it be able to fit in their cubbies to make sure it has a safe spot during the day!

We made it outside almost everyday last week!  This week it does not look like we will be so lucky!  The first part of the week is supposed to be pretty bitterly cold, so may never make it to the 20 degree cut off!  But it does look like there are some "mild" temperatures headed this way by the end of the week!  Fingers Crossed!

Menu:
Monday:  Tacos, mixed veggies, berries and milk
Tuesday:  Meatballs, green beans, apple slices, dinner roll and milk
Wednesday:  Lasagna Hotdish, garlic bread, pears and milk
Thursday:  Chicken Nuggets, sweet potato fries, peas/carrots and milk
Friday:  Pb & J sandwiches, pears, corn and milk

STAY WARM!

Week of November 10-14

And there it is!  The snow has arrived!  Thank you everyone for bringing your child's snow gear today!  I hope to get out this afternoon for a little while, since THEY are all really excited about it!  Please keep helping your children practice getting their own gear on and jackets zipped....etc themselves.  It makes it much easier to get outside when the big kids are able to independently get ready, leaving me able to help the 2 and under crowd more!

We do try to get outside anytime it is around 20 degrees (factoring in the windchill) or above, so be sure to bring them every day, I do not have a way to leave kids inside who are not prepared.

Giant Tower on a rainy day!
This week we are doing Show and Tell on Wednesday!  Everyone may bring a favorite book from home to share with their friends!  I will do my best to find time to read all of them sometime during the day!

We also have Music Class with Tasha on Friday afternoon!

Gavin and Kaia "hiding" during Hide and Seek!  How on earth did I find them?!
Menu:
Monday- Fish Sticks. Strawberries, veggie fries and milk
Tuesday- Pancakes, Bacon, cottage cheese, pineapple and orange juice!
Wednesday- Ham and Cheese Roll ups, Mixed veggies, bananas and milk
Thursday-Tator Tot Hot Dish, Apples and milk

*In case anyone missed it on the November Newsletter I sent home last week, I am using 3 of my vacation days on Dec. 29, 30 and Jan 2. These days in combination with closed Holidays with make me closed Dec. 23-Jan. 2!  Enjoy a nice long Holiday break with your families! That leaves one vacation day, but it will most likely remain unused!

What a beautiful Fall week we had last week!  The kids enjoyed plenty of time outside, as well as both Travel Tots and Music class in one week!

After deciding to give a different curriculum company a try, there was a delay in shipment!  It should be here tomorrow!  We will be learning this month about Community Helpers, so I have been reading books and extra crafts I had left over from a previous year to start our monthly lessons!  We will be talking all about different jobs that are helpful to our communities! I will send home copies of our new music as soon as I get it!  The new Company is called Fun Steps, inc.

This week on Wednesday we will be having our pajama day!  Feel free to wear your pajamas to daycare!  Please wear pajamas that will be alright to play in outside in the afternoon.

REMEMBER- DAYCARE IS CLOSED THUR. OCT 16,  FRIDAY, OCT 17 and MONDAY, OCT. 20!  See you all Tuesday after a nice long relaxing (wine filled!) weekend!!!! ;)
