Week of May 30- June 3rd

I hope everyone enjoyed their Holiday weekend.  We could have had a little nicer weather the first couple days, but we had a blast with family and friends anyway!  And Monday couldn't have been more beautiful!

With the nicer weather, I will be sending home any winter clothes your child has here for extras.  Please bring in seasonally appropriate clothes for your child to keep here.  I like to have 2 complete changes of clothes at all times, just in case of any accidents, spills, or falls in the mud!!!

Also, I provide bug spray and sunscreen for the kids.  But if your child needs something specific, please bring that in for them.  Or if you'd like to donate a bottle of either one to the group, I'd be happy to accept! :)

I am very excited about the new substitute teacher I have hired for the summer months.  He is a Elementary School Behavioral specialist and licensed school social worker.  Mike also coaches Volleyball and leads Volleyball camps for grades k-2 during the summer.  He loves kids and just happens to be Charlotte's uncle!  He came by and met the kids a couple weeks ago and seems like he is really looking forward to the opportunity to work with the kids!  He will primarily be here Friday afternoons, a couple mornings here and there and covering a few full days so we can have a little family summer trip! His first afternoon will be June 17th so I can leave early for Grandma's marathon in Duluth (don't worry, I'm only running the half marathon, so I should hopefully be able to walk that next Monday!) He looks forward to meeting all the parents as well!

Important dates this month:
June 7th: Travel Tots, 9am
June 10th: Music Class 10am
June 13th: Celebrate Maddie's 4th birthday (actual bday-6/12)
June 17th: New substitute teacher's first afternoon with the kids!
June 21st: Travel Tots 9am
June 29th: Picnic at the park (weather permitting!)

As you may have noticed, when the weather gets nicer, we spend more time outdoors and take a little break from our school time.  We still do the calendar and a song or two each day, but don't always get a craft in...need to take advantage of the weather whenever possible!!! There will be special days/themes for the summer and we will resume our regular curriculum when school is back in session in the fall.
