Week of July 25th...

First and for most I want to  let all of you know that our little buddy Talon fell while playing at home this weekend and broke his leg.  He will be immobile for a few weeks and spending time healing at home with his mommy and little sister (due LAST FRIDAY...so should arrive VERY SOON!)  I wish him a quick recovery and mom and dad good luck keeping that running man still!!!

And as sad as this is to say...this is our LAST WEEK OF JULY.  Can't believe how fast this summer is flying by.  Before we know it that WORST four letter word of all will be back to haunt us for 8+ months!  So we are going to try to enjoy the rest of the warm weather as much as possible!

This week we will be having a camping day!  I will set up our tent out back and we will light up a campfire, maybe roast some marshmallows (or our hot dogs for lunch!) and have a great time.  This will most likely be on Wednesday morning.

Last week we walked to the park for the morning and had a great time celebrating the lack of humidity! Hopefully we can get back agains oem afternoon this week, so watch your email and I will let you know if we are headed down so you can just plan on picking your child up from there!

I finally got my camera back that had the pictures of the splash pad day...so here are a few pics of our fun!  Look for more downstairs soon!

MENU:
Monday- Grilled Cheese, bananas, green beans and milk
Tuesday- Ravioli, garlic bread, grapes and milk
Wednesday- Hot dogs, baked beans, fruit cocktail and milk
Thursday- Sloppy joes, mandarin oranges, mixed veggies and milk

June 18-22

This week we will be trying to stay cool all week!  The sprinkler will be out, the pool will be filled and the big WATERSLIDE may even make an appearance!!!  But I would really like to still get the kids outside every day, despite the heat index.  So we may head out to play a little earlier in the morning, before it gets too bad.

Wednesday we have Travel Tots with Ms. Carrie again, at about 11:30

MENU:
Monday- Turkey and Cheese sandwiches, green beans, grapes and milk
Tuesday- Waffle sticks, cubed ham, corn and appleasauce
Wednesday- Corn Dogs, veggies, peaches and milk
Thursday- Pizza, bananas, carrots and milk
Friday-Tacos, veggies/dip, apple slices

I took some great pictures when we escaped to the splash pad/park a couple weeks ago, but left my camera at a friends house and am working on getting it back, so as soon as I do, I will add some cute pictures of our water fun!

JULY NEWSLETTER!

What’s Happening this Month!
Sorry for the late newsletter this month!  The 4th of July really made the beginning of the month fly by!!  I hope everyone had a great long weekend wherever they were and that everyone was able to celebrate with family and friends!  Finally some great weather!
This month we are talking about camping!  I know in the past summers when we have done this theme, the kids all loved it!  We are a little more lax on the school time during the summer, since we have so few days to get out and enjoy the sunshine and warmth!  So there may be a few crafts that we don’t do that I will send home with the kids in case they want to do them at all, instead of them going to waste!  The curriculum for the month also came with calendar cards that I sent home for everyone!  Do what you want with them!  Make flash cards, put them on your child’s wall, etc!  I also sent our journal home with the younger kids, since it is mostly writing I am going to have the older kids work on their journals each day during naptime, so feel free to let your younger child color on them or work on the letters and writing with them at home.
CALENDAR:
July 4th and 5th- CLOSED
July 6th- Travel Tots Class 11:30
July 15th- Music Class 11:00
July 20- Travel Tots Class 11:30
July 27- Camping Day!  We will set up the tent, make a campfire and possibly even roast   some s’mores!
I will be using a Vacation day Monday, Oct. 24th to combine with the MEA break I have Oct. 20 and 21st.   That leaves four vacation days for the remainder of 2011.
