Week of April 23-28!

Last week we had a lot of fun playing with the dress up clothes!  We had princesses. super heroes, clowns, astronauts, jedis, and cheerleaders (and Maggie was not the only cheerleader, she had some boy helpers!!!)

The new fishing poles and magnetic fish were a huge hit!

I am not sure what was more fun, blowing the bubbles or chasing
them and popping them!

We spent lots of time out front on the bikes trying to
let the grass grow out back!  Maggie was so excited to show the boys how to ride a bike without training wheeles!  WAY TO GO MAGGIE!

Our Blast off into Space theme is coming to a close!  We have a couple crafts left to finish up this week.  Then we will start our May curriculum next week!  I am going to go without the curriculum for the summer months, June, July and August, since the weather is so nice and we are outside so much!  We will still be doing our school time every day, but it will be more summer based crafts...and some more hands on games/activities!  We will have our singing and dancing time still everyday as well!  I think it may be a little tough to accomodate the youngest kids as well as the school agers who will be home for the summer with the provided curriculum, so I will be coming up with age appropriate activities for every group!

THIS WEEK we will be celebrating Jack's 5th on Tuesday!  What a big boy!  He is really looking forward to starting kindergarten next year!

WEDNESDAY we have out Travel Tots class with Ms. Jeanette!

Monday- Fish sticks, carrots, mandarin oranges and milk
Tuesday- Grilled Ham and Cheese, green beans, peaches and milk

Friday-Corn Dogs, bananas, baby carrots with ranch and milk

week of Aprl 16-20

Despite a few cool, gloomy days last week, we had a lot of fun!  We spent time dancing to some music!  Nothing like a little kids dance party to work off some energy!
The Huge blocks are always a big hit!  The kids made some great towers and were very impressed with Logan's statue that he made!

The re-arranged playroom allows the kids access to more of the toys...if I didnt know better, I would think all the toys were brand new!  The kids have loved being able to play with a lot of different things during free play time!

We also had our Travel Tots class and our music class last week!  What a busy week!

This week we have show and tell on Tuesday.  But since I forgot to remind a lot of you, only about half of the kids brought things to show this morning, so if your child did not bring something today, they may bring something WEDNESDAY to show their friends!

Over the weekend, we spread some new grass seed all over the yard to help get rid of some of the mud pits!!!  It is a tough job keeping grass in a yard where 12 kids run and play twice a day!  But if we can get some grass to grow it will help keep your kids a little cleaner at least during the day!  Please use the woodchip path to walk to and from the back yard.  We will also be spending more time this week doing riding toys, sidewalk chalk, etc in the front.  As well as doing walks and probably an afternoon at the park to try to allow the seeds time to germinate!

MENU:
Monday- Chicken nuggets, sliced carrots, bananas and milk
Tuesday- Ravioli, garlic breadsticks, green beans, grapes and milk
Wednesday-Cheese Quesadillas, corn, canteloupe and milk
Thursday-English Muffin Pizzas, oranges and milk
Friday- Homemade Macaroni and Cheese, pineapple, baby carrots with ranch and milk

Week of April 9-13

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.  We spent Friday at a doctor's appointment than headed up to our cabin for the day to bury our family's dog (that my mom and I got in high school, but stayed with my mom to keep her company once I moved out.)  Tough days Thursday and Friday for the boys (Aidan, Logan and Harvey, who lost his best bud.)  But we were able to get home Saturday and do some super exciting home projects and have a beautiful Easter celebration with family on Sunday.

This week we really hope to get into our preschool curriculum a little more.  We had beautiful weather last week and kind of slacked on the school time stuff!  So with cooler, breezy temperatures the beginning part of this week, I hope to spend a little extra time making up for last week!  Sometimes it is so hard to stay inside and learn when the sunshine and playground are calling us outside!!

Wednesday we have Travel Tots with Ms. Jeanette this week.  I believe they will be doing a movement class so the kids will have plenty of time to get their wiggles and giggles out!

If anyone ever wants to look at their website to see more detailed information on what we do with Travel Tots, feel free.  It is

Friday is our monthly music class with Tasha.  The kids absolutely love this time as well!  Lucky kids, 2 classes in one week!

LUNCH MENU:
Monday- Hot dogs, baked beans, bananas and milk
Tuesday- Tuna hot dish, peas, mixed fruit, dinner roll and milk
Wednesday- Pancakes, cottage cheese, applesauce, and OJ

We had a great field trip last month to the Como Conservatory.  I hope to do a couple more in the Spring and during the summer!

Projects are in full swing around here!  The new sidewalk and front entry is almost done, window is in, now time to finish the basement bedroom.  It is also going to double as a nap room for the younger kids so that the older kids can have the playroom to watch a movie and play quietly during the summer.  Thank you all for your patience during our renovations!

Please continue to dress your children for the weather!  It is still that odd time of year where we can change 30 degrees from morning to afternoon!  Dressing in layers is always a good plan, then you can take off what you don’t need!

WEEEEEE!

We had a great time on our field trip last week.  The kids enjoyed looking at all the pretty flowers, but were REALLY excited when they saw the koi pond!  Then of course there was the Poisonos toad, tarantula and sloth that you all heard about!  It was even a nice enough day to let them run loose on the playground for a few minutes before heading back to daycare for lunch!  Overall, a success.  Thank you to Linnea and Erin for helping round up the troops!

This week we start our new April Curriculum!  BLAST OFF TO SPACE!  The kids should love it!  I will get the monthly newsletter and CD out hopefully today!  I am still in need of CD cases, so if anyone has some they want to donate that'd be great!

Monday is Dominic's 2nd birthday!  Our "daycare baby" is a big boy now!!!!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOMINIC!

Wednesday we have Travel Tots with Ms. Jeanette.

Our new sidewalk should be getting poured the middle of this week.  So on the day(s) they are here working and while the concrete is drying, you will have to walk your child around to the back sliding glass door.  (or if they are old enough, you should be able to send them around back on their own, I will be waiting for them by the door!)
