Week of November 28- December 2

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and got to spend lots of time with friends and family!  That is what the holidays are all about after all!  We had a great Thanksgiving feast of hot dogs on Wednesday and loved our Turkey hats that we made!

We also had a chance in the last couple weeks to play in the snow!  The kids had such a blast!  they even got to get out the sleds and make snowballs!  Here are some pictures of all our fun!
Aidan showing the little kids how to snowboard!

Big kid sledding during nap time!

Jack and Justin having a blast!

Talon having a quick SNOW snack!

This is Marek!  He joined out daycare group last week and is doing great adjusting to his new group of friends!  Say hello to his parents, Mike or Katie if you see them!

Pajama day was a lot of fun as well!  The kids loved hanging out in their jammies all day!  We played lots of games with our teddy bears, even launched them around on the parachute!

This week we will beginning our new December curriculum, which means I will send home our newsletters and CD's very soon!  Thanks to Jeovanni's mom Jessica for donating some new CD cases for our music!  The kids will also help me decorate Daycare for Christmas on Thursday!

Wednesday is SHOW AND TELL!  Help us finish off the "Changing Seasons" Curriculum by bringing something from home to show your friends what your favorite season is!

Next week on Monday my mom, Linnea, will be here on Monday, Dec. 5 during naptime to cover for me so I can get to an appointment.  She will also be finishing off the daycare day on Friday, Dec. 9th so I can head up north to celebrate my birthday with some friends!  So nice to have an awesome mom as a back up, and the kids all love her!

Week of Nov. 21-25

We are trying to cram a whole lot of fun into one short week!

Tuesday we will be having pajama day! Send your kids in their p.j.'s, and send along a favorite stuffed animal to have some fun with during the day! You may also send a flashlight if you'd like for a special slumber party story time and game!

Wednesday we will be having our Thanksgiving Feast! And no it will not be traditional! Instead of a turkey and all the fixings, we are going to transform pigs in a blanket into some delicious looking turkeys! And making a special treat!

Thursday and Friday I am closed to spend time with family for Thanksgiving!

MENU:
Monday: Peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches, carrots, pears and milk
Tuesday: Spaghetti with meat sauce, apple sauce, green beans and milk

Week of Nov. 14-18

We had a fun week last week celebrating Maggie's Birthday on Tuesday and having Music class on Friday!  Also did some great crafts for our seasons theme this month!

OUR BIG FIVE YEAR OLDS!

Also last week, Grant joined our daycare group.  He will be three is January, and is a little ball of energy like most little guys are!  Say hello to his mom Kayla if you see her around at pick up or drop off time!

Last Friday was Kahina and Kathy's last day.  Their housing situation changed rather suddenly and they had to make a lot of adjustments, including stopping daycare for the time being.  They would love to have Kahina come back someday when the timing is better!  So Poor Maggie is back to being the only girl AGAIN!  It will be such a relief for her next year to go to kindergarten and actually have other girls to play with!!!!

This week on Wednesday we have Travel Tots at 11:15.  We will be having a new teacher this week and I look forward to meeting her!

MENU:
Monday- Grilled Cheese sandwiches, pears, carrots and milk
Tuesday- Beef Stroganoff, green beans, pineapple and milk
Wednesday- Chicken Patty sandwiches, fruit cocktail, corn and milk
Thursday- Tacquitos, apple slices, sweet peas and milk
Friday- Macaroni and Cheese, Spinach, bananas and milk

REMINDER- NEXT WEEK I AM CLOSED THURSDAY AND FRIDAY FOR THANKSGIVING!

And a couple of you have asked, so just wanted to let everyone know that it is for certain that I will be using the remaining 4 (unpaid) vacation days for the Year, Dec. 27-30 so I will be closed from Christmas Eve- New Years.  And I also noticed when I printed off Holiday lists for the new parents, that on the old ones, I did not have Jan. 2 on there, probably becuase it is techinically NEXT YEAR! Since New Years Day falls on a Sunday, the federal Holiday for New Years is Monday, Jan. 2, so most businesses are closed to observe New Years.  I will also be closed.  So Daycare will re-open Tuesday, January 3!

My first Christmas Program!  4 years Ago!
I will have a new Holiday list for 2012 by our Christmas program for the parents, on Dec. 23 at 4:30! This show is something you dont want to miss...so plan on being here to watch your child perform!  More info to follow in the next week or two!

November Newsletter!

Another month has begun!  We have already dove right in to this month’s curriculum!  We are learning about the Changing Seasons!  There is an emphasis on Autumn, but we will be discussing all four to work on the differences between them!  I wonder which will be your child’s favorite!
Our letters for the month are: Ww, Uu and Tt!  We have moved on to the numbers 5 and 6.  The month’s colors are orange and yellow and are not hard to find this time of year!  Our shape is the rectangle and will be incorporated into our curriculum in many ways this month!

We will be having a Thanksgiving feast, Show and Tell and Pajama day this month…so be sure to check the blog weekly for reminders of these events!
