This week...

The kids had so much fun at our beach party last week and I got some super cute pictures of them all!  There are more up on the wall downstairs, if you have not seen them, be sure to check them out!

This week at daycare, the temperatures are SUPPOSED to warm up...so hopefully we can have some water fun!  So please make sure your child has a swimsuit and swim diapers if needed!  Also if anyone wants to donate some kids sunscreen, I'd gladly accept, since we go through a lot!  And no need to send a towel for your child, as I have accumulated a lot over the years!

We have a new friend starting daycare this week.  His name is Jack and he is four years old!   I know I know...not the girl Maggie was hoping for...but I am trying!!  And at least it is another 4 year old!!!  He is going to be a fun addition to our group!  Welcome Jack!

This week, Erin will be teaching daycare on Friday, so the kids and I can head up north and beat the traffic!  And there is some new excitement in her life, she just got engaged last week, so when you see her, be sure to congratulate her!

Then daycare is closed Monday and Tuesday of next week, for paid Holidays to give everyone a chance to celebrate with their families.  I hope everyone has a nice safe weekend!

MENU:

Monday- Clean out the freezer day! (we will be using up all the "extras" from the past weeks' lunches!)

Tuesday- Tuna Casserole, green beans, fruit cocktail and milk
Wednesday- English Muffin Pizzas, apples, carrots and milk
Thursday- Hardshell tacos, corn, rice and milk
Friday- 4TH OF JULY BBQ! Hot dogs, baked beans, watermelon and milk!

First week of "summer"

It's hard to believe that Tuesday is the Official first day of summer and Fourth of July is just right around the corner!  I hope the days start warming up a little bit for us real soon!

Chris and I had a great time at our friends wedding!  Neither of us had ever been to jamaica before and we would both love to go back!  Of course the break from parenthood for a few days was an added bonus!

This week we are ready to Party here at daycare!  Tuesday is our LUAU party!!!  So despite the forecasted cool temperatures and rain, wear some island attire!  We will break out the Lei's, the palm trees and island music and have some fun!!

MENU:
Monday- Spaghetti, garlic bread, fruit cocktail and milk
Tuesday- Chicken Nuggets, oranges, green beans and milk
Wednesday- bbq Meatballs, Corn, applesauce and milk
Thursday- Grilled Cheese, Bananas, mixed veggies and milk
Friday- Corn Dogs, Baked Beans, pears and milk

HAVE A FABULOUS WEEK!

Last week we had so much fun!  We finally got to get in the water!  Even though the air temperature was near 95, I heard "I'm cold!"  Within minutes despite filling the pool with laundry tub water instead of straight from the hose!!!!  But the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves and definetly cooled themselves off!

This week, the kids are set for more fun!  Tuesday Linnea will be here for the day, and then Wednesday Erin will be here to finish off the week!  Also on Wednesday we have our travel tots class, from 11:15-12:15!

Since we are learning about ISLANDS this month, I have promised the kids a special something from Jamaica if they are on their best behavior this week!  Perfect timing for a friends wedding!

LUNCH MENU:
Monday- Chicken Patty, veggies and dip, strawberries and milk

Tuesday- PB & J sandwiches, sliced carrots, pears and milk

Wednesday- Ravioli, apple slices, mixed veggies and milk

Thursday- Tacquitos, green beans, oranges and milk

Friday- Pizza, bananas, carrots with ranch and milk

June 6-11

This is it!!  The last few days of school for the summer!  The big kids are excited to have a break, and the younger ones are looking forward to having them around ALL DAY!  Can't believe another year has flown by!

Justin has jumped right in and joined the group! He is already making new friends and playing with the kids!  He is doing a great job adjusting to daycare and learning a new set of rules and routine!

Nothing big planned for this week at daycare.  But we will have an ice cream Sundae party Wednesday after the big kids get home from their last day of school!  Just a little treat to celebrate the completion of first grade!

Friday afternoon, my mom, Linnea will be here towards the end of nap time to finish off the afternoon for me.

If you have not yet brought back your childs extra clothes bin, please do so ASAP and make sure to have a swimsuit in it.  We have a couple 90 plus degree days forecasted for the beginning of this week, so you never know when we may have our first chance to get out the sprinkler to cool off!!  We had our first round of Icee's last week!  That must be the summer weather has finally arrived!

JUNE NEWSLETTER

What's Happening This Month…

Pack up your suits and towels and lather on your sunscreen, because we are becoming ISLAND EXPLORERS this month! Can't wait to have some beach themed fun! Pirate treasure hunts, sand castle building, sailboats races…we are in for quite a month!

This month we are doing a review of all the letters in the alphabet, and all the numbers! Each day I will have a letter of day, starting with A and working our way through! We will also be reviewing all the shapes and colors that we have learned over the "school year!"

CALENDAR:

Wed. June 1- Travel Tots, 11:30-12:30 (with new teacher, Miss Carrie)

Mon. June 13- Music Class, 10:00-10:30

Tues. June 14- Fri. June 17- I will be gone for a friends "destination" wedding. Linnea will be here Tuesday, then Erin Wed.-Friday

Wed. June 15- Travel Tots, 11:30-12:30

Tuesday, June 21- LUAU DAY! Dress in your favorite Island Attire

 

**I would also like to do a field trip to the beach this month (most likely at the end) but I am looking at calendars and times to see if it will work. It may be a "big kid" field trip, since it would require a lifeguard on duty (which doesn't start until noon.) Possibly for 4 years old and up. More info will follow in the next few weeks.

 

TODAY I AM SENDING HOME CLOTHES BINS. PLEASE REPLACE THE CLOTHES IN THERE WITH SUMMER EXTRAS IN THE CURRENT SIZE AND A SWIMSUIT (AND SWIM DIAPERS IF YOUR CHILD IS NOT POTTY TRAINED)
