Week of May 23-May 28

Memorial Day is just around the corner...the Unofficial start of Summer.  I really hope Mother Nature gets the memo this year!!!

We had a very busy week last week!  It was our last class with Tee for Travel Tots!  The kids absolutely loved her, so I am sure they will miss her...but the show must go on!  So next week we begin our adventure with a new teacher from travel Tots, and a new schedule.  We will have class the first and third Wed. of each month, from 11:30-12:30.

We also celebrated Logan's birthday!  It was the first time he was really excited about his special day so it was pretty fun to celebrate!  He got a new pet for the family...a bearded dragon!  I ams ure your kids told you about Logan's new lizard in his room!!

This week, we have a pretty low key week without any special days planned.  So we will be spending our time getting to know our new friend, Justin.  He is three and a half and will be another great member of the 3 year old boys team we have been forming!  His mom's name is Sarah, so if he see her at pick up or drop off time, be sure to greet her and introduce yourself!

Wednesday morning this week, I will be helping Aidan's class at school with their field trip to the MN Zoo, so Erin will be here teaching for me from about 9-3.

REMINDER:  We are closed next week on Monday for Memorial day!  Have a safe and fun LONG weekend wherever you will be celebrating!

Week of May 16- May 20

This week, there is penty of sunshine in the forecast!  Can't wait to spend TONS of time outside!

We did some grass seed down on the grass in both the front yard and along the side of the house.  So if you could make sure to walk on the wood chip path and keep your kids off the grass in the front yard for at least a week, so the seed can have time to start its grwoth process, I would really appreciate it!

Thursday we will be celebrating Logan's 5th birthday!  Wow, doesn't seem possible!

Friday is Travel Tots, from 9:15-10:15.  This will be our last class with Tee as our teacher since she will be moving on to a different adventure in her life!  I have yet to find out who our new Travel Tots teacher will be, though!  The kids will make a Thank you card for Tee and all sign it.  They really did like her!

SPRING HAS ARRIVED!

Warm weather is here!  It supposed to get into the 80's today, We can't wait!  I will send the kids extra clothes bins home this week, please take the whole bin home, empty out the winter extras and fill it up with spring/summer clothes.  You may also throw a swimsuit in there for when the REALLY hot weather comes and we run through the sprinkler!

Also, Chris and I finished a "walkway" for the parents along the side of the house. So,  Please walk on the woodchip path when coming around back to pick up your children.  We will be planting grass seed along the side of the house to attempt to get some of our grass back!  Hopefully this will also help keep shoes from getting quite so dirty!

This week, we will be celebrating Beau's second birthday on Thursday, and have music class at 10am on Friday.  Erin will be here again to finish off the daycare day on Friday for me!

What's Happening this Month... May Newsletter!

What’s Happening this Month!
After a string of yucky weather, we really lucked out and had a beautiful day at the zoo!  The sun was shinging and it wasn’t busy at all!  Unfortunately some of the animals were not out, but the kids had a great time!  They loved having a picnic and playing on the playground as well!  Thanks to Kathy for helping me chaperone, it is always great to have an extra set of eyes and hands!
This month we are continuing on with the animal theme, but this time we will be talking about things at the pond!  There will be turtles, and frogs, and insects…along with lots of plants you would find at the pond as well!  We will be talking about the letters Ff, kk, and Pp, the numbers 9 and 19, the diamond and the colors purple and blue.
Calendar for the month:
May 4: Zoo field trip
May 5: Travel Tots 9:15-10:15

Back to reality!

My family had a wonderful vacation in Mexico this year.  Just went the four of us, no grandparents, no uncles...just us!  And it was great!  Very relaxing just spending time by the pool and the ocean!  Good quality time together!

But now here we are, back to the daily grind...and the miserable weather.  As one of you said this morning, I think Spring skipped us this year!  I hope Summer doesnt forget about us as well!

The temperature is supposed to get into the 60's the rest of the week believe it or not, with a little sunshine Tuesday and Wednesday.  So we are going to go ahead with the zoo field trip in Wednesday.  But will just be heading to Como instead of the MN zoo since farm babies is done anyway.  The cost of the Field trip will be $4/child to cover the donation and a little for gas for our chaperones.  Linnea and Kathy (Mallory's mom) will be helping with this field trip.  For the others of you who offered, I will keep you in mind for the next field trip.  Sometimes too many adults makes it tough to keep the group together and behaving!!!

We will leave her AT 9:30, so we are there when it opens at 10:00.  Please make sure your child is here by 9:15 so we can get ready to go.  Also send a bag lunch wth drink along with your child.  We will have a picnic at the zoo before heading home.

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO WEAR TENNIS SHOES AND DRESS YOUR CHILD FOR WHATEVER MOTHER NATURE THROWS AT US!!!

If the weather is REALLY bad, then we will just head to the Eagles Nest again to run off some energy!

Then Friday, we have Tee coming for our Travels Tots class from 9:15-10:15.

MENU:
Monday- Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches, corn, appleasauce and milk
Tuesday- Ravioli, mixed veggies, mandarin oranges and milk
Wednesday-PICNIC AT THE PARK- BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH
Thursday-Tuna Hotdish, carrots, pears and milk
Friday- Chicken nuggets, bananas, green beans and milk
