Week of Jan 25- 29

Hope everyone survived their weekends and that no one else picked up the stomach flu... PHEW- glad that's over!  Figures crossed we don't need to do that again this winter!  This season has been pretty brutal on the illnesses.  Lots of bad colds, coughs, pink eye, ear infections, stomach flu, fevers, sore throats...everywhere!!!!  Please continue to work with your kids on covering coughs and washing hands. I think it would be a good reminder for everyone to could look at my illness policy and review it, that would be great!

Illness policy:
If any of these symptoms are present, your child may not attend daycare:
*A fever of 100 or higher in the last 24 hours (may not come back until 24 hours FEVER FREE WITHOUT MEDICINE)
* Has vomited in the last 24 hours (may not return until 24 hours after LAST episode of vomiting)
*Has had more than one diarrhea in the last 24 hours (may not return until 24 hours after the last loose stool)
* An unexplained rash (must get checked out by a dr, if rash is contagious, must remain home for 24 hours after antibiotic)
* Pink eye -red, irritated eyes and/or yellowish discharge in eyes (must be on antibiotic drops for 24 hours prior to return)
*Sore throat accompanied by fever (if a positive strep test, must be on antibiotics for 24 hours prior to return)
* Lice or nits present in hair (must remain home until no longer present)
If any of these occur in the evening or in the morning while your child is at home, please keep them at home until none of these symptoms have been present for 24 hours, or until they have gotten the approval of a doctor to return to childcare.
If any of these should happen while your child is at daycare, you will be called and told to come pick up your child and they will be temporary isolated until your prompt arrival.

I do not have a sick room for children at daycare, so if they are not healthy enough to participate in our daily activities, they should not be here.  They should be at home getting the care and rest they need so that they can make a speedy, healthy return to daycare.

Also- if any of these happen at home over the weekend, please let me know.  That way I can be on the look out for signs in other kids and notify parents of the potential of it spreading.  If it showed in your child on the weekend, chances are people were exposed on Friday.

This week we are going to celebrate Landon's 4th birthday on Tuesday (actual Bday is on Wednesday, but he gets to stay home with his mom for a fun day!)

Then on Friday, we will celebrate Mason's Second Birthday!

I did finally get a chance to go through everyone's paperwork packets and there are a few spots that need to be completed for a couple of you.  I will send them back home (or just have you do it quickly here if it's minimal) to be completed.

Tuesday- Meatballs, Dinner roll, green beans, oranges and milk
Wednesday- Corn Dogs, Mixed veggies, cantaloupe and milk

Week of Jan. 11- 15

Everyone did a great job of getting back in to the routine last week after our break!  I was very impressed with how well the kids all did!

We had a very busy week last week!  Everyone loved our Travel Tots class and our Music Class!  Our Music teacher, Tasha, told us she will be on maternity leave March and April, so we will be taking a little break from Music Class for those two months.  I am looking into other option for an additional class of some sort those months!

Thank you to everyone for bringing your Paperwork packets back to me!  There are a couple that are still not back and I do need them back ASAP.  Technically your child can not be in care without those forms here, so please get them back to me by Wednesday.

This week we will continue on with out January Curriculum!  This week the theme is SNOW, appropriately!  It looks like it will be too cold most of the week to get outside...but maybe Thursday or Friday.

Monday- Chicken Tenders, mixed veggies, Strawberries and milk
Tuesday- Cheeseburger Macaroni, peas, apple slices and milk
Wednesday- Corn dogs, carrots, blueberries and milk

Week of Dec.7-Dec.11

The snow was fun while it lasted!

There is not much snow left in the yard and its not supposed to be too cold, so the kids should be alright without snow pants.  If you still would like to send them go ahead, but we probably won't need them this week.

We have been busy singing our own Christmas songs, getting ready for the kids big performance on December 23rd!

Since I am closed for Christmas break, I did not order our curriculum for December.  We end up with a lot of wasted crafts/supplies.  But we will still be working on our letter for the month. Week of Nov. 16- 20

The weather has been absolutely wonderful this fall!  The snow and freezing cold can go ahead and hold off as long as possible!  We have been enjoying every last minute of being outside without full snowsuits on!

We celebrated Cody's 5th birthday last week with some yummy cupcakes!

We welcomed Charlotte to our group last week!  She is a sweet two year old who is going to be a fantastic addition to our group.  Please be sure to say hello to her mom, Chelsea or Dad, Kevin at drop off/pick up times if you see them!

Tasha came for music class on Friday and we had a blast with her!  The kids really love having our classes for a nice change of pace!

This week we will have Travel Tots on Tuesday with Ms. Beth at 9am!

Also wanted to notify parents that I will be using 3 remaining vacation/personal days on Dec. 28, 29 and 30 to close for the Holidays.  So in combination with the Holidays I am already closed, I will be closed starting Dec. 24 and will re-open on Jan. 4.  There is also a CHANCE I might be using a 2016 vacation day on Jan 4 since we are heading to Green Bay to celebrate the Holidays with our family there New Years weekend and are going to Lambeau Sunday to watch the Packers beat the Vikings! I will notify you for sure about that day within the next week or so. Horrible timing I know, but the NFL didn't listen to me when I tried to petition the game schedule!!!! ;)

We will be having a Christmas Show/Party Dec. 23 at 4:30 for the parents.  The kids will sing a few songs for you and have treats before heading out to enjoy Christmas Break!

Menu:
Monday- Fish Sticks, mixed fruit,  carrots w/ranch and milk
Tuesday- Sloppy Joe pockets, green beans, pears and milk
Wednesday- Cheese quesadillas, Corn, apple slices and milk
Thursday- Baked Penne, garlic bread, peas, oranges and milk
Friday- Chicken Patty Sandwiches, mixed veggies, peaches and milk
Now is the perfect time to get your kids flu shot!  Help protect all of us and minimize the spread of influenza!  I feel like we have all come down with something the last few years on Thanksgiving weekend!  Let's try to NOT do that this year!

Week of Nov. 9-13

It is so much fun having new friends to play with!  Last week we enjoyed getting to know Cody.  This week we get the chance to get to know Charlotte and her parents!  It's a full house around here again and we love it!

This week we have music class on Friday with Tasha!  I wonder what fun songs we'll sing and what kind of instruments the kids will get to play!

On Wednesday we are also going to have brown day!  Help your child pick out brown clothes to wear to reinforce our color of the month!

This week our theme is FALL HARVEST!  We will be talking about a lot of different fall foods!

With the approaching winter and all the extra clothes/gear we need to put on to get outside, it would be great if parents could start working with their kids on getting some of it on on their own! I use the flip method for jackets with the younger kids.  Getting snow pants on by themselves and putting their own shoes/boots on would be a huge help! That way it wouldn't take us quite as long to get outside once the snow comes!

Menu:
Monday- Beef Stroganoff, apples, peas and milk
Tuesday- Grilled Cheese sandwiches, pears, green beans and milk
Wednesday- Chicken Nuggets, peaches, mixed veggies and milk
Thursday- Meatballs, carrots, oranges and milk
Friday- Pancakes, sausage, bananas and milk

Reminder- I am closed on Thanksgiving and the day after!
