Week of Oct 21-Oct 25

I believe our stretch of warmer than average October temperatures may be over!  It feels like winter may be headed this way!  Just a reminder that we still do go outside to play, so send your children with appropriate outerwear for the temperature!  Also start working with your children on how to put on their jackets, hats, mittens...etc.  The quicker we can get ready the quicker we can get outside!

This week we have Travel Tots on Tuesday with Ms. Beth at 9am.

I realized I forgot to mention our Halloween party on the monthly newsletter!  We will be having one on Thursday Oct. 31.  You may bring your child in his/her Halloween Costume in the morning.  Also send a change of clothes if needed for after our Party!  We will play some games, dance to some ghoulish songs and have some treats!

week of Oct. 7-Oct. 11

Old MacDonald had a farm- E-I-E-I-O!  You may hear your children singing this song frequently this month, because we are heading to the farm all month long!  Our curriculum finally arrived the end of last week, so we jumped right in and are learning about Farm animals!  With an oink oink here and a moo moo there....

This week we have Travel Tots on Tuesday with Ms. Beth.  Tasha will also be here this week on Friday for our music class!  Busy week!

What a wonderful thing to be able to wear shorts still while we greet October!  This Fall has had beautiful weather!  I personally hope it continues as long as possible!  in fact, all the way to March would be great!

We are still waiting for our October curriculum to arrive, so this week we will start with some Halloween crafts to decorate daycare!

There are no classes this week.  So we will talk every opportunity to be outside!  May even walk to the park one afternoon!

This week we are doing our "child of the week!"  Be sure to check when your child will have their special day!  Send a picture or two of their family and some favorite thing of theirs that they can tell their friends about!

Week of Sept. 16-20

This week we will be talking about our "feelings" in our "Me and My family" Curriculum theme!  This is always a fun unit for the kids!

On Tuesday, we also have Travel Tots, with Ms. Beth.  Not sure which country she will be taking us to this month, but I am sure the kids will love it!

Cold and flu season is already upon us, so please practice good hand washing with your children and review the contract for my illness policy.  The more people follow those rules, the more we can limit the spread of stomach viruses and bugs through out daycare!  Remember, they are in place to not only keep the other children from getting sick, but me as well to prevent daycare closings.

Week of Sept.9-13

"Me and My Family!"  That is our theme this month and the kids have loved it so far!  It is so great hearing what the kids have to say about their families!

This week we have met our newest daycare friend, Laila!  It is great to have so many wonderful little girls again!  After YEARS AND YEARS of the boys ruling around here...it's a great change!  unfortunately we will be losing one girl in a couple weeks.  Due to mom's job change, Savannah will be greatly missed.

If anyone knows someone looking for childcare, please send my name and phone number (or email) along to them.  The spot would have to be for someone age two and up since I currently am full with my "two under two!"  There may even be something special in it for you if you refer someone who fills that spot!

This week we have Music class on Friday! Our time slot will be changing to 10:00 with Tasha.  I think that will work better with our schedule so we are not so rushed to do lunch on music days!

Just a reminder:  I am always looking for donations of blank CD's and CD cases so I can send home the music for the month!  I am currently out of discs...so I will get to the store for some this weekend if I have not received any yet!

BACK TO SCHOOL!

Wow...it really is that time of year again!  I thought it was just a dream!  But Talon and Jeovanni are all done at daycare and off to kindergarten!  Aidan and Logan are off to second and fourth grade...and we are heading back to preschool!  We will take a couple days to get into our new routine, but will start our September curriculum by the end of the week!

My blog WILL be updated weekly and monthly newsletters will start coming home again!   We spent our summer being a little more laid back and enjoying our days of fun in the sun...but now its time to get back to work!

This week we have Travel Tots on Tuesday at 9am with Ms. Beth!  They will be learning about Japan!
