Week of May 14-18

What gorgeous weather coming up this week!  The kids love being able to be outside multiple times in a day, for longer periods of time!
Craft time outside!

Last week we had a great time in both our classes, Music and Travel Tots. We also enjoyed a couple walks to the pond where we found some ducks!

The construction has begun FINALLY on the new bedroom, so the boys thought it was VERY neat to see the "builder man" bringing in all his tools and wood!  They also thought it was SO COOL to be able to sleep upstairs in Aidan and Logan's rooms during naptime to try to get away from the noise of a nail gun, saw...etc!

On a walk to the pond!  The kids kept calling this "our jungle!"

This week, we are going to have a fun day on Friday.  We will be going to the park in the morning to play and stay for a Picnic!  Please send a bag lunch (including beverage) for your child with his/her name on it!  We will also be celebrating Logan's 6th birthday that day!

Extra clothes are being sent home today, so please send back summer clothes ASAP as well as a swimsuit and swim diapers (if your child is not potty trained.)  I only need 2 changes of clothes.

Linnea will be here during nap time on Thursday and Erin will be here Friday afternoon this week!

MENU:
Monday- Ravioli, bread, mixed veggies, applesauce and milk
Tuesday- Grilled Cheese, oranges, corn and milk
Wednesday-Corn Dog Muffins, carrots, apples and milk
Thursday- Tacquitos, green beans, peaches and milk
Friday- BRING A BAG LUNCH!

I have also had a couple of you ask about donating a bottle of sunscreen.  I will gladly accept sunscreen donations.  The backyard is shaded most of the afternoon, but in the morning, there is tons of sun out there!  So if you are interested in donating a bottle of sunscreen to daycare that'd be great!  We go through quite a bit during the summer!

MAY NEWSLETTER

  MAY NEWSLETTER

It’s a Jungle out there!  And we are about to get pretty wild in here!!!  The theme for this month is Jungle Jamboree!  I am sure this will be a wild and crazy month full of fun activities, crafts and some great songs!  The colors we will be working on will be blue and green and the letters are Z, G and A.  The numbers for the month are 19-20 (your older child should now be able to identify 1-20 correctly.)  and the shape is an octagon!  We will learn about jungle animals, what they eat, where they live…etc!

Sometime this month, I will be sending home the extra clothes bins to change out the winter long pants and long sleeves for shorts and t-shirts, as well as a swim suit.  If your child is not fully potty trained, they will be required to also have swim diapers whenever we are in the pool/sprinkler.  Please send a package of those as well. One package should last the whole summer.  If you could also put your child’s initials on the tag of their clothes, that would be helpful so they don’t get mixed up!

CALENDAR FOR THE MONTH:

Friday, May 11- Music class with Tasha, 11:00

Mon. May 14- Beau’s 3rd birthday celebration!

Week of April 23-28!

Last week we had a lot of fun playing with the dress up clothes!  We had princesses. super heroes, clowns, astronauts, jedis, and cheerleaders (and Maggie was not the only cheerleader, she had some boy helpers!!!)

The new fishing poles and magnetic fish were a huge hit!

I am not sure what was more fun, blowing the bubbles or chasing
them and popping them!

We spent lots of time out front on the bikes trying to
let the grass grow out back!  Maggie was so excited to show the boys how to ride a bike without training wheeles!  WAY TO GO MAGGIE!

Our Blast off into Space theme is coming to a close!  We have a couple crafts left to finish up this week.  Then we will start our May curriculum next week!  I am going to go without the curriculum for the summer months, June, July and August, since the weather is so nice and we are outside so much!  We will still be doing our school time every day, but it will be more summer based crafts...and some more hands on games/activities!  We will have our singing and dancing time still everyday as well!  I think it may be a little tough to accomodate the youngest kids as well as the school agers who will be home for the summer with the provided curriculum, so I will be coming up with age appropriate activities for every group!

THIS WEEK we will be celebrating Jack's 5th on Tuesday!  What a big boy!  He is really looking forward to starting kindergarten next year!

WEDNESDAY we have out Travel Tots class with Ms. Jeanette!

Monday- Fish sticks, carrots, mandarin oranges and milk
Tuesday- Grilled Ham and Cheese, green beans, peaches and milk

week of Aprl 16-20

Despite a few cool, gloomy days last week, we had a lot of fun!  We spent time dancing to some music!  Nothing like a little kids dance party to work off some energy!
The Huge blocks are always a big hit!  The kids made some great towers and were very impressed with Logan's statue that he made!

The re-arranged playroom allows the kids access to more of the toys...if I didnt know better, I would think all the toys were brand new!  The kids have loved being able to play with a lot of different things during free play time!

We also had our Travel Tots class and our music class last week!  What a busy week!

This week we have show and tell on Tuesday.  But since I forgot to remind a lot of you, only about half of the kids brought things to show this morning, so if your child did not bring something today, they may bring something WEDNESDAY to show their friends!

Over the weekend, we spread some new grass seed all over the yard to help get rid of some of the mud pits!!!  It is a tough job keeping grass in a yard where 12 kids run and play twice a day!  But if we can get some grass to grow it will help keep your kids a little cleaner at least during the day!  Please use the woodchip path to walk to and from the back yard.  We will also be spending more time this week doing riding toys, sidewalk chalk, etc in the front.  As well as doing walks and probably an afternoon at the park to try to allow the seeds time to germinate!

MENU:
Monday- Chicken nuggets, sliced carrots, bananas and milk
Tuesday- Ravioli, garlic breadsticks, green beans, grapes and milk
Wednesday-Cheese Quesadillas, corn, canteloupe and milk
Thursday-English Muffin Pizzas, oranges and milk
Friday- Homemade Macaroni and Cheese, pineapple, baby carrots with ranch and milk
