Week of March 27-31

Back to Reality!!!  After a great vacation in Florida, it is time to get back to real life!  Gavin was very excited to get home to see his friends, then as soon as we got home to the gloomy weather he said, "Never mind, lets go back to the beach!" Haha!!!

This week we will finish off our "At the Pond" theme for March!  Hoping to be able to walk to the pond one of these mornings since it is finally ice-free! Maybe we'll even get lucky and get to see some ducks or geese!

I know the kids love it, so we will do Show and tell on Thursday.  The theme will be something that starts with P!

It looks like we should be done with snowpants so feel free to leave those at home now, if the forecast shows snow, you can send them for that day- but let's face it, everyone's kind of done playing in the snow!!!

Menu:
Monday, Beef and Bean burritos, bananas, mixed veggies and milk
Tuesday- Spaghetti, apples, garlic bread and milk
Wednesday- Tator Tot Hotdish, peaches, dinner roll and milk
Thursday- French Toast sticks, ham, corn, pineapple and milk
Friday- Chicken nuggets, green beans, pears and milk

Week of March 6-10

March 2017_Circle Time.jpg

I hope everyone received their March curriculum newsletter!  We have some fun stuff in store for us and may even double up on crafts a few days due to being closed for vacation part of the month.  The kids are loving the "Dancing in the Pond" music!  We are hoping the rest of the ice comes off the pond around the block soon so we can go for a nature walk to explore the pond!

This week we have Tasha coming for music class on Friday!  Can't wait to see what instruments she has for us this month!

The weather looks like it will be a big mix of typical March weather this week, so please send your child's snow gear to keep on hand here in case we need it.  Could be cold, wet, muddy, snowy, sunny...a little bit of everything this week!

Also, please remember to use our wood chip/stepping stone "path" when coming around back.  And my neighbors have also mentioned that they would appreciate if people did not walk through their lawn when coming to pick up their kids.  They do not have children and keep their lawn prestigious, so I would hate for foot traffic to get their yard muddy and rip up the grass.  We will be doing some updating to our path this spring, but please continue to use it how it is now for the time being.

Next week will be a pretty short week, so I wanted to give a heads up that Tuesday will be GREEN DAY!  Come wearing green and we will have a little early St Patricks Day fun!

Reminder: CLOSED MARCH 15-22.  Mike will be here March 23-24.

MENU:
Monday- Ravioli, applesauce, carrots, garlic bread and milk
Tuesday- Turkey Sandwiches, apples, mixed veggies and milk
Wednesday-Tuna Hotdish, pears, green beans and milk
Thursday- Rotisserie Chicken, corn, bananas and milk
Friday- Pancakes, sausage, hashbrowns, peaches and milk

Week of February 13- 17

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! The kids are really looking forward to exchanges Valentines this Tuesday!  We will play some valentines Games, dance, have a heart themed treat...can't wait for all the fun!  You may bring valentines for your child to pass out to all the friends here at daycare.  There are 11 kids!

This week we also have Travel Tots on Tuesday, so it will be a busy day!

Last week the kids enjoyed Music Class with Tasha.  She brought her flute for the kids to hear and they loved it!

This February thaw that we are having is great!!!  A good reminder that spring is coming!!!  Unfortunately it means a gross mess out in the yard!  So just a reminder your kids will be dirty when you pick them up!  I do still plan on doing snowpants most days to keep them dry and mud free, but if we go up to ride bikes or on a walk, we may leave the snow pants behind!  But please still remember to have all their stuff here on a daily basis!

UPDATE ON SPRING BREAK VACATION DAYS: I did decide that it would be easiest to close on Mar 21 and 22 IN ADDITION TO  MAR 15-20 I had mentioned earlier. It will just be tough to have two different subs for a couple days each.  So Mike will be here MAR 23 And 24.

Menu:
Monday- Chicken Patty sandwiches, carrots, peaches and milk
Tuesday- Grilled Cheese, Corn, bananas and milk
Wednesday-Rotisserie Chicken, green beans, apples and milk
Thursday- Eggs, sausage, pears, hashbrowns and milk
Friday- Fish sticks, oranges, mixed veggies and milk

Have a nice President's Day Weekend!  I am looking forward to a day of sleeping in and fun with my kids on Monday, February 20th!

Week of Jan 29- Feb. 3

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like winter is FLYING by!  I'm hoping the rest of it, however long it is until spring weather comes, continues to pass quickly!

We have enjoyed our time outside in the mils winter weather we have had!  But please still continue to send all snow gear!  Especially as things continue to melt- the kids will get wet and muddy and those extra layers help ensure they stay dry and warm! I will try my best to keep the pathway along the side of the house free of ice and mud, so please walk on that instead of the yard.  Doing so will help keep the side of my yard from getting ripped apart due to the heavy traffic.

Last week we celebrated Landon's 5th birthday!  Everyone loved the Chocolate chip cookie cake!  Always seems to be the favorite birthday treat!

This week we celebrated Mason's 3rd birthday!  The kids were looking forward to their Star Wars cupcakes all day!

This week we will have Travel tots on Tuesday morning with Ms. Beth.

We will also be talking about Penguins!  The kids have a few favorite penguin books they are looking forward to reading and love dancing like penguins!

In case anyone missed my email, I will need everyone to pick up by 4:00pm on Wednesday February 8th (next week) so I can attend Gavin's kindergarten round up!

Also a reminder that I am closed on President's Day, February 20th.  I am looking forward to having a day with my kids without any sporting events to juggle into the day!

Menu:
Monday- Cheese quesadillas, grapes, corn and milk
Tuesday- Grilled chicken strips, green beans, oranges and milk
Wednesday- Italian hotdish, garlic bread, apples and milk
Thursday- Meatballs, dinner roll, mixed veggies, pears and milk
Friday- Hot dogs, tator tots, applesauce and milk
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!

Week of Jan. 16-20

The weather is really looking up this week!  Can't wait to get some good outside play time in! With the mid-winter thaw that is forecasted,  please be sure that your child has waterproof mittens with. Wet hands can become cold hands really fast!!!

We are enjoying getting to know Cooper, our newest friend!  He is adjusting great to our group and the kids are all having a lot of fun together!

We loved music class with Tasha last week!  It's our favorite when she brings the gathering drum!

Working on building giant towers!

Last week we celebrated Ryan and Mackenzie's birthdays!  Which both fell over Christmas Break!  MacKenzie turned 2 and Ryan turned 5!  Thanks for the treats!

If you haven't noticed, I have really been focusing on preschool basics this month.  A lot of letter and number review, as well as working on tracing, cutting, sorting, etc.  It will make our normal curriculum much more beneficial if we can work on these basic skills needed to complete our daily activities! I have also been working with the older kids on some kindergarten readiness things, such as writing their name in the correct format, sounds the letters make and more.

This week we have travel Tots with Ms. Beth on Tuesday!

Menu:
Monday- English Muffin pizzas, corn, bananas and milk
Tuesday- Fish Sticks, carrots, oranges and milk
Wednesday- Chicken Patty, green beans, pineapple and milk
Thursday- Ravioli, breadsticks, apples and milk
Friday- Pancakes, sausage, applesauce and milk

Week of Jan 3-6

Happy New Year!!!!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas break!  We had a nice time in Green Bay, topped off with a Packer Win! Then spent a lot of time relaxing as a family back in Minnesota!  Logan went up to Red Lake ice fishing with his uncles for a few days and we all went to a waterpark hotel for a night as a little get away! So nice to spend time together and rejuvenate for the new year!

The kids did great at their Christmas program!  I was truly impressed!  It went better than I had anticipated!  Thank you all for coming, the kids work really hard for it for over a month so I know they love when you are there to watch them! If anyone has any good pictures, I'd love if you would email them to me!  I only found a few on my camera that Aidan took, I was a little too pre-occupied to take any myself! ;)

Also, Thank you all for the wonderful and generous Christmas gifts, that was very kind of you!  It is always great to feel appreciated!

This week we will be jumping right back into it!!!  We have Travel Tots on Tuesday with Ms. Beth and will also have a new daycare friend, Cooper, joining us!  He is Lana's cousin and almost 18 months old!  It will fun to have him around!

We will also be celebrating MacKenzie and Ryan's birthdays on Wednesday, which both fell over Christmas break!

I hope to get outside a little bit this week, but it looks like the temperatures will be dropping starting Wednesday.  Hopefully we can get some fresh air on Tuesday.  Our backyard is like an ice skating rink right now, so we may have to play up front instead!  Wherever they can run off some energy is fine with me!!!  Please be sure that your child has the appropriate outdoor gear here for the weather!

I will be sending out my Closed Holidays list for 2017 by the end of the week, it is pretty much the same as last year, but I always like to get it in writing for everyone to put on their calendars!  The next closed Holiday is President's Day, February 20.

Since there is nothing different in My contract, I will not be sending it home this year to resign.  If you have any changes to your paperwork, such as immunization updates, address or phone number change, etc., please let me know so I can update the correct forms for you.

Menu:
Monday- Closed
Tuesday- Grilled Cheese, bananas, carrots and milk
Wednesday- Roasted chicken, green beans, fruit cocktail and milk
Thursday- Macaroni and cheese, peas, oranges and milk
Friday- Corn dogs, pears, mixed veggies and milk
