January 8-12
We are back in the swing of things! The kids were so great last week after a long break, it was a pleasant surprise! Especially with the cabin fever setting in a bit! We look forward to being able to go outside this week!
With the mild(er) temperatures, we will be going outside every day! Please be sure to send all their gear. Including waterproof mittens. And at night please hang them and be sure everything is dry for the morning. Theres nothing like putting on soaking wet winter gear before heading outside.
My mother is having hip surgery this week, so there is a small chance that I may have a sub here at some point during the week depending on how she is doing and what she will need help with. I will keep you all informed if something comes up.
We had travel tots this morning. With the New Years Holiday being last Monday, Ms. Beth switched us to this week! The kids had a lot of fun traveling to Russia, but they did say they'd prefer the beach! ;)
I should have everyone's paperwork folder Tuesday to bring home for annual updates. I will also have the 2018 closed dates enclosed. I had hoped to accomplish this task last Friday, but I found out a close family friend passed away early that morning and just didn't have the focus to complete them. I apologize for the delay and will be sure to get it to you ASAP.
Menu:
Monday: Grilled Cheese, peas, grapes and milk
Tuesday: Spaghetti, mixed veggies, pears and milk
Wednesday: Chicken Tenders, Tator Tots, apples and milk
Thursday: Sloppy Joes, oranges, green beans and milk
Friday: Bean and Cheese burritos, corn, berries and milk

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! January 2- January 5
HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope everyone had a wonderful time with family and friends over the Holidays.
Public service announcement: IT'S COLD OUT! Brrrrrrrrr! It has been brutal and it doesn't look like there is a thaw anytime in the bear future! Just a reminder that it needs to be 20 degree or above for us to go outside, including the windchill. So it may be a while! We will get creative on ways to burn off some energy during the day.
I will have 2018 paperwork for everyone by the end of the week. It will include a full packet for anyone that has been here longer than a year to update. If it has been less than a year and there are no changes, you will not need to fill everything out again. There are no changes to my policies this year, but I will have a list of closed days for 2018. The next day is Presidents Day on February 19th.
We will be on our Spring Break vacation from March 7-16, but I am hoping to get a sub for some of those days, so I will update the closed days in the next week or two.
The kids did a great job at the Christmas program. If anyone has any pictures they'd like to share with me, I'd love that! Feel free to send them to me via text or email!
We will be celebrating Mackenzie's 3rd birthday on Wednesday!

November 13
The kids are having a great time singing and dancing to our rainforest music. They especially love acting like a bunch of crazy monkeys! It seems to come naturally to them! ;)
This week we will continue learning about rainforest animals and the letter M.
With the chilly weather now, please be sure that your children have hat and mittens daily. Also boots are a good idea since they help keep their feet warm and you never know when we may get some snow! You can feel free to send their snowpants to leave here at daycare any time now. Remember, if we are outside at pick up time, please be sure to bring everything back the next day!
We will be having a little Thanksgiving feast on Wednesday Nov 22. It will not be traditional Thanksgiving food, but they will help me prepare the lunch and set the table, etc. It's always a fun day!
Also since we have a few new families this year, I would like to clarify our "Christmas program/party" for December! The kids perform a few Christmas carols or dances for the parents, and Santa usually makes an appearance. For those families that have been here in the years past...we have a pretty young group this year, so everyone keeo your expectations low!!!! ;) We will start at 4:30, so please be on time, and don't forget your cameras. December 21, 4:30 pm.
Lunch menu:
Monday: Macaroni and Cheese, applesauce, peas and milk
Tuesday: Chicken tacos, corn, bananas and milk
Wednesday: Fish Sticks, tator tots, peaches and milk
Thursday: Peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches, carrots, oranges and milk
Friday: Eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, pears and milk

October 2-6
Can't believe October is already here! I think summer is officially over, so I will be sending home the swimsuits until next year! Please also update your child's extra clothes bin as well to seasonally appropriate items.
This month we will be learning about Weather and the Changing seasons! Your children will chase the wind and discover the mystery of weather and the changes that come with the seasons. They will love pretending to twirl like tornadoes and imitate thunderclouds. Your children will make a rain stick, sort leaves and curl up like a hibernating bear in his cozy den.

I am also excited that I have a found an amazing daycare sub for during the school year. She was a licensed daycare provider up until August when she closed her daycare to finish off her nursing degree. She has agreed to help cover a few hours here and there when I have appointments, field trips for the kids, etc. Her name is Tessie and she will be here this week on Friday morning for a little bit!

Also, the software I use for book keeping, food program and auto pay is being updated to a different program. The change will take effect this week so just want to give you all a heads up that you may have to log in and re-authorize your auto pay account. I will update you once I make the change. I have heard there have been some kinks in the change over, so I have waited until the last possible make to do the update in hopes that they have them worked out by now!
